Disclosures: how we make money and how we research this site
A site that compares itself with its competitors owes readers a plain account of how it does that. This page covers our method, our conflicts of interest, how we make money, and which things on the site are illustrations.

How we make money
We sell one service: Trustpilot review removal for direct-to-consumer health brands, in packs sized by a free audit, billed per confirmed removal. That is our only source of revenue.
Affiliate relationships: none. We do not earn commissions, referral fees or payments of any kind from any company named on this site. That includes the companies on our comparison pages, law firms and review platforms. No company has paid to be listed, ranked or mentioned.
Our conflict of interest, stated plainly
We write the comparison pages, the alternatives pages and the list of review removal services for telehealth. We are one of the two companies on every comparison page, and we put ourselves first on the list.
We deal with that in four ways:
- We say so at the top of each page.
- We publish the criteria the list uses, and they are things a reader can verify from public pages.
- Each page says what the other company does well and which buyer it fits better than we do.
- We do not rank on results. No firm's removal results can be checked from outside, ours included, so we do not claim to have tested them.
We research comparison pages from public facts
- We read each company's public website: its homepage, its Trustpilot or review removal page, its pricing or cost page, its FAQ, its about page and its sitemap.
- We record what the pages state and quote them where wording matters. We do not interpret silence as a fact. When we could not find something, we write "not found", with the date.
- Every page shows the date the information was checked. The first round was September 19 and 20, 2026.
- We do not request quotes under another name, create accounts on other companies' services, or use private price lists.
- We repeat another company's claims about itself, such as client counts or success rates, as claims. We have not verified them.
- Links to other vendors carry
rel="nofollow".
Corrections. If you work for a company named here and a statement is wrong or out of date, use the contact form. We will check the source, correct the page and change its date.
We link policy and legal statements to primary sources
Every statement about Trustpilot's policies, Google's policies, FTC rules, HIPAA enforcement or FDA decisions links to a primary source. That means the platform's own help center or legal pages, the Code of Federal Regulations, or the agency's own announcement. Each page ends with the list of sources it used. When a source changes, we update the page and its date.
We are not a law firm. Nothing here is legal advice.
We build data pages from public profiles
The DTC health Trustpilot report 2026 and the sample figures quoted on industry pages come from public Trustpilot profile pages read on September 19, 2026. We publish totals and ranges by category. We do not name brands. One-star counts are estimates, because Trustpilot shows rounded percentages.
The one company named in connection with its Trustpilot conduct is NextMed, because the FTC's case against it is a public record.
We label what is an example and what is real
| On the site | What it is |
|---|---|
| Reviews shown in "audit file" panels | Written by us to show the method. Not real reviews |
| The weekly proof report, audit result, evidence checklist and timeline panels | Layouts of our real deliverables, filled with made-up rows. Each is labelled "Example" |
| Reply examples | Written by us. General information, not legal advice |
| Still-life photographs of cards, boxes and bottles | Created with an AI image tool (Higgsfield). No real products or brands are shown |
| Figures about Trustpilot, the FTC and other agencies | Real, and linked to the source |
| Client names, logos, testimonials, removal counts, ratings | There are none on the site. We do not publish proof we cannot substantiate |
We are independent of Trustpilot and Google
Remove One Star is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Trustpilot or Google. We have no special access to either platform. Every flag goes through the same tool any business can use.
